(3) PWG Anniversary Plaque - discussion (All)

  - From Joni at IEEE-ISTO:
    - Smith, just to be clear on my previous note:
      1. PWG was founded in 1991 originally as Network Printing Alliance, as you 
         already know. (hence 30 years)

      2. PWG's Program Participation with the IEEE-ISTO was Ratified in September 1999 
         and Modified in 2008 as Printer Working Group while joining the IEEE-ISTO 
         (hence 21+ years with the IEEE-ISTO).

      3. The IEEE-ISTO wanted to present a plaque for being sustainable as an 
         organization for 30 years and being a member of the IEEE-ISTO Federation for 
         over 20 years. It would be nice to have a few stakeholders on the Zoom/Webex 
         call for presenting. We are asking for the holder of the plaque address for 
         shipping purposes.

      4. The IEEE-ISTO was incorporated in December of 1998 as per the Articles of 
         Incorporation.
         The PWG was one of the first organizations to join the Federation!

ACTION: 06/28/21 - Smith to have IEEE-ISTO send the PWG Anniversary Plaque to Smith and then have IEEE-ISTO invite the SC + Mike + Don Wright + Harry Lewis to the event. Also Jerry Thrasher?

  - Is there a wiki page? Not yet

  - Is this IPP only? 
    - No, IDS elements and other PWG assets and engagements, and technologies 
      leveraged from outside, are all represented here.  Trick is to find a way to 
      make sure these connections are all visible in some concise way that doesn't 
      overburden the page with an insane level of annotation.

    - We didn't get the expertise that we were expecting to get from the writer

    - Struggled with even the structure of the outline and that has been a problem

    - Lacks a coherent narrative

  - Where do we go from here?
    - We've tried back and forth 3 times and we seem stuck in a cognitive disconnect 
      with the writer

    - Need to find a different writer and perhaps be prepared for that with more 
      materials or something?

  - What does Anne suggest we do?

- "arc" is any single value (often least-significant) in an OID - Existing plain text PWG policy and registry for each PWG MIB base OID - IBM gave PWG a permanent arc for LDAP OIDs for Print Schema (RFC 7612)

ACTION: Smith/Mike/Ira/anybody to draft whitepaper on late binding for best fidelity in Cloud servers, intent vs. process for output fidelity, and the fundamental design ethos of the PWG's work
