Job Ticket API (JTAPI) Working Group Status 11 May 2004 - 18 Jun 2004 Accomplishments: --------------------- 1. Created slides for LSM meeting in Bordeaux in July. In Progress: -------------- 1. Update of the JTAPI Specification. 2. Update of the JTAPI UML diagrams. 3. Creation of a white paper that defines the C JTAPI. The paper will be given to Japanese FSG who will tranlsate it and present it to IPA. The target for completion of the white paper is the end of May 2004. Future Plans: --------------- 1. Implement C version of JTAPI. 2. Create Java interface that represents JTAPI. 3. Implement Java version of JTAPI. 4. If the JTAPI white paper is accepted by IPA, then an engineering proposal will be written and presented to IPA with the hope of procuring funding to implement the 1.0 C JTAPI. Issues/Concerns: -------------------- 1. Lack of resources (time and funding) to implement C version of JTAPI. 2. Lack of resources (time and funding) to implement Java version of JTAPI. 3. Lack of direction from FSG regarding the license to use when contributing code to FSG and when developing code for FSG. The MIT license seems to be the least restrictive, but some companies prefer CPL because of the warranty and disclaimer. Schedule: ----------- 1.
